Spring Mini Sessions for April 14 and April 21 are now being booked. You can contact me directly here. Make sure you specify you want to book a VB 2012 Mini Session. Also put the day you are requesting and time. IF these go like they went last year, spots will go fast, so I will take each booking first come, first serve. I will follow through with an email confirming your spot along with additional information. If I can get both days booked by 10AM tomorrow, I will knock off an additional $10! So, spread the word!

What do we get with the session? Twenty-minute session with me, an online gallery to view your pictures and a CD with all of those images within a week after the gallery is posted.
How many images do your clients usually get with a CD? No less than 25.
Are you going to make us sit in the same spot for 20 minutes? NO! I would die of boredom! We will be walking around and having fun throughout your whole session!

I am looking for children to model again! Last model search was extremely successful and a lot of fun, and I am looking forward to working with more precious faces! You do not need to be a professional model, just someone who is comfortable in front of the camera and wants to be photographed at home. I am looking for newborns, babies, toddlers and preschoolers. If you have kids that are older and interested please contact me, I am willing to make exceptions in order to get some spots filled fast!

A lot people worry that their home is not picture worthy, I promise this is not true! I want to work in homes of all shapes, sizes, and colors! And don't worry about the pile of laundry, I have one too! The only requirement is that you live in the Birmingham, AL area.

Models will receive a CD with all digital images from the modeling session.

Home for the Holidays

This year we celebrated Christmas by ourselves for the first time ever. Just the four of us Booths. I was a little saddened and excited about doing this. Sad because we would of course miss our families, a little scared because I didn't know if we were "grown up" enough to do our thing without the elders leading the way, and also excited to start our own traditions and just do "our" thing!

We ended up having a wonderful Christmas! Nothing too fancy, kept it pretty simple. Lots and lots of Christmas movies, hot cocoa, marshmallows, popcorn, throws, comfy pajamas and slippers, tons of carols on Pandora, eggnog (more specific Ponche Crema which is like eggnog but the Latin version which has lots of rum!), champagne, pumpkin pie, 24 hours of A Christmas Story and the best part: my two beautiful, sweet girls and my amazing husband who I got to share every moment with.

Christmas is gone and I miss it already! Can't wait for next year! It truly is the most wonderful time of the year!

Receiving a shipment of canvases is always so exciting! For many different reasons really: love getting large packages, love the smell of the canvases when you open the box, love seeing my photographs LARGE, love the luxurious feel and look of the medium... all great reasons, but also because I usually sneak in a little something something for myself!

This time I ordered a photo that I had not seen in a really long time. Bumped into it while I was looking for black and white's for a post I wrote a couple of days ago (click here to view post: My Favorite Black and Whites). Another Saturday at the Market

So anyone that knows anything about me knows that I can usually be found every Saturday morning at The Pepper Place Farmers Market with my family. The best place in town for a family breakfast while listening to fantastic live music and then shop for local produce, art and tons of cute stuff! I bought my daughter the cutest Alabama dress two weekends ago! RTR!

This has really turned into a tradition for my family. We love eating breakfast at a picnic table (if we are lucky enough to find one, since there are not many) or by the shade of a tree, and watch the people walk by with their dogs, spot the best tomatoes, peaches, cheeses, peas, flowers, etc... and did I mention the live music! This year the market teamed up with the Alabama Department of Tourism to celebrate the state's rich musical heritage in what is called The Year of Alabama Music. Every performer so far has been excellent! Yesterday we were introduced to Jon Poor, my favorite so far!

As far as breakfast items this is what we recommend:

My daughter has to have a Blueberry Lemon Muffin from Chez Lulu paired with blueberries or a peach.
My husband loves the Breakfast Burritos from Homewood Gourmet (this seems to be an incredibly popular item this year) and the Iced Coffee from Chez Lulu topped with organic milk.
My favorite thing ever was the local goat cheese with fresh baked bread, but since I am pregnant and should not have goat cheese, this year's favorite is the Turkey and Cream Cheese Croissant from Continental Bakery. It sounds heavy and too rich but it is not! There's barely any cream cheese in it! I was kind of worried about that too.

Well, the market will be opened every Saturday until December 17 2011. Maybe I'll see some of you there one of these days! Hope that I do!

Oh, another thing! If you do stop by I would recommend bringing:

Your own bag to place your purchases
A wagon (Radio Flyer) if you think you might be getting lots of things or large items (watermelons and such)
Hat, water, fan and sunblock (especially if pregnant or with kids)
Cash. There is an ATM at the market, but better come prepared!

She has been my everything for the last four years and my husband and I take so much pleasure in seeing her grow and get more beautiful, smart and funny each and every day. If you are not familiar with this event let me tell you a little bit about it. Back In Town!

I am back in Birmingham after a week of shoots in Destin, FL. My trip was wonderful! Hopefully you have gotten a chance to see some of the previews I have posted recently, more are in the way! My favorite part of the trip was of course the people I worked with! The interest for my work was delightfully overwhelming and the kids were all gorgeous! There are also so many awesome locations for shoots in that area... the choices are endless! It was definitely a nice change of pace and a fun way to get the creative juices flowing!

This little man is so precious and sweet! He's got the most beautiful eyes and personality! Shooting at The University of Alabama was a blast! We had fun making elephant sounds (mostly Dad), playing with mud and water and talking about Yo Gabba Gabba! Mom just happened to be a friend from the college days, so taking her son's pictures at UA was too much fun! Hope you like your first preview!
